I was very honored to get this assignment, out in this week’s New Yorker. For a piece on Nelson Kargbo by Rachel Aviv, who was a child soldier from Sierra Leone given asylum in America. Then the government tried to send him back. The article goes on to talk about the PTSD many refugees struggle with and how they fall through the cracks of the system in the United States.
